The third annual Rainbow Reykjavik Winter Pride Festival will take place January 30-February 2. This Winter festival has been growing in popularity every year with fans coming from all over the world and joining the local LGBT community to admire the breathtaking landscapes, swim in geothermal waters, enjoy exquisite cuisine and, well, party.

Vladimir, who runs the gay travel resource site Gay Travel Advice, is not going to miss the opportunity to attend this year.

Read on to discover more about this weekend. For a more compete guide to Reykjavik, be sure to download our soon-to-be-released January/February issue. What, you’re not a subscriber? Click here for our special offer and start traveling with ManAboutWorld. From our guy, Vladimir:

The weekend fun begins with a relaxing soak in the turquoise pools of Iceland’s Blue Lagoon followed by a welcoming party, with fabulous cocktails, at the Slipp Bar Marina which is located by the old harbor of Reykjavik. For the rest of the weekend the tour will visit three of Iceland´s most famous places; Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir hot spring area and Þingvellir national park, ending with the opportunity, weather permitting, to see the Northern Lights.

If we have some energy left, the festival will dance into the night at Pink Party with local performers and djs. All these activities are just a small part of what you can expect visiting Rainbow Reykjavik. The program has been planned by Pink Iceland , the only LGBT tour operator in the country, and who better that them to guide us through Iceland.

If you would like to visit Iceland and enjoy Rainbow Reykjavik, you can get a 5% tour discount if you mention Gay Travel Advice while booking a trip with Pink Iceland. Gay Travel Advice provides great info to LGBT travelers, and sometimes we plan  events and trips as a concierge.
