We haven’t covered gay Vancouver in a while (sorry!), and it’s the 10th anniversary of same-sex marriage equality in Canada. Congrats to the progressive people of Canada. Vancouver Pride Parade & Festival (downtown Vancouver, July 25-August 2): Leading up to the famous Vancouver Pride Parade and Festival on August 2 are a series of events including a fun run, picnic and the Davie Street Dance Party.
East Side Pride Festival (Grandview Park, June 27): Located in Vancouver’s funky Commercial Drive neighbourhood this festival features local artisans and community groups doing important work in the LGBTQ+ community in Vancouver.
Surrey Pride Festival (Holland Park, June 28): Family event with live music, lots of vendors, and great food.
New West Pride Week (New Westminster, August 8-15): Now nine days long, don’t miss the Columbia Street Party on August 15.

Farmer’s Markets: They happen on specific days around the city.
Vancouver Craft Beer Week: Runs May 29 to June 7 and this year’s theme is Lumberjacks.
Food Cart Fest: Sundays from June 28 at the Olympic Village neighbourhood, bringing together Vancouver’s renowned food trucks and more.
Asian Night Markets: The area of Richmond (near the Vancouver airport) has a 65 percent Asian population, and exciting night markets full of foodie experiences.
CULTURE HITS:
Vancouver Men’s Chorus presents Men on Granville Island, June 5, 6, 7, 11, 12 & 13.
Theatre Under the Stars presents the musicals Oliver andHairspray outdoors in Stanley Park’s Malkin Bowl. Various dates from July 10-August 22.
In Tune 2015-The Art of Canadian Musicals. For gays who love a showtune, this unique event shouldn’t be missed. June 12 – 21, various times/places on Granville Island.
Celebration of Light. Fireworks dazzle to music (listen on your radio) over English Bay as three nations show their best. July 25, 29, & August 1.
