4th of July Countdown: Door County

One of the nation’s best (and perhaps most underrated) locales for fireworks on the Fourth is Door County, Wisconsin’s 70 mile long peninsula with fireworks at dusk in five separate locations around the county – we’re talking charming towns like Egg Harbor, Sturgeon Bay, Bailey’s Harbor, Fish Creek, and Sister Bay, where  the whole county turns out the red, white and blue and celebrates America’s independence.

Egg Harbor has been voted best fireworks – and is a personal favorite. We love it for its firework display, its walkable Main street, shopping, and dining.

We covered Door County in our July/August 2013 issue and loaded it full of insider tips on how to explore one of the country’s quaintest peninsula’s. Click here to subscribe for all of our past issues (including Door County!)
