15 Places To Go In 2015: London…Because It’s the Year of the Next Royal Baby

from the blog www.stuckincustoms.comLONDON is one of the great cities of the world, and rarely do you need an excuse to go; the history, the art, the clubs, and the theater are reason enough. The city’s hot right now for a lot of reasons, and while some gay boys might want to hop the pond to see Tom Daley in his speedo, we have a few better reasons. Come April, Prince William and Kate Middleton will welcome their second baby into the world — and the world, as usual, will be watching. Don’t just watch! Go there and witness this historic event for yourself. Ignore those April showers and focus on the dynamic East End and the fantastic street markets. For official gay and lesbian London, click here.

“Strip and Dip” on the Las Vegas Strip

As featured in ManAboutWorld, the gay travel magazine

Our correspondent Jeff Guaracino relieved stress in Las Vegas. Discover his secret.

Did you ever fantasize about taking a trip and just being a spa harlot? I mean literally every day — maybe twice a day or more — having every part of your overworked, super stressed body made to feel as beautiful Cleopatra herself? Every once in a while, doesn’t everyone need a “strip-n-dip” trip?

You’ve heard of the spa vacations. Almost every tourism office around the world wants us to come to their destination for the ultimate spa experience. The lure? Facials, massages, body scrubs, pedicures, manicures, hot tubs, and saunas. Each and every treatment promoted with a unique twist or that extra special experience. A particular rock for that rock massage or the perfect men’s moisturizes for the face or even a concoction of various oils and lotions blended into a signature treatment.Continue reading ““Strip and Dip” on the Las Vegas Strip”

15 Best Places To Go In 2015: Washington DC…Because it’s the 150th anniversary of Lincoln’s assassination.

washington dc1WASHINGTON, DC is in its prime, as a city and as a gay destination. Its evolving culinary, art and culture scenes can compete with the major metropolitan players and is crowding out its fading reputation as a crime capital. Welcome to DC, the hip, foodie, art hub with a whole lot of history. In April 2015, the natural wonder of the city converges with its bloody past, when the city’s annual Cherry Blossom Festival and the 150th anniversary of Lincoln’s assassination align for special events, exhibits and the best natural show in town. The festival runs March 21-April 12, and is among the best for glorious cherry blossoms.

Taipei & Vietnam: Two Gay Steps Forward, One Gay Step Back

taipei2
How quickly things change. We listed Taipei as one of the 15 Gay Places to go in 2015 because it’s the new gay capital of Asia. We’ve come to know city as an Asian leader of tolerance, of progressive thought and freedom, so the recent police harassment experienced by attendees of gay New Years parties has left us confused and disheartened. A trusted friend of ours reported that “at three separate gay nightclub events, every patron was placed under suspicion and detained for hours with little reasonable cause.” He said the outcome was a vow to not return, though we hope the opposite is true and we are hopeful for a more tolerant future for what should be Asia’s LGBT trailblazer.  And a caution to us all that LGBT progress in conservative cultures is often a bumpy road. In happier Asia news, Vietnam abolished its ban on gay marriage!!!!!

Gay Marriage Became Legal Today in Florida

Vows
Congratulations, Florida! On Jan. 6, the Sunshine State became the 36th stateto legalize gay marriage. And so we immediately started thinking of places you could spend your honeymoon. The above photo of Little Palm Island, just off the coast of Key West, isn’t too shabby of a choice. But whether you celebrate at the St. Regis in Bal Harbor or the Delano in Miami, the real news here is that Florida is finally on the gay marriage map!

Winter Rendezvous Is Coming To Stowe

gay-ski-weekendWe’ve heard folks call Stowe the “Aspen of the East,” but it’s not quite: Aspen wishes it had this kind of New England charm. Tucked away in the Green Mountains of Vermont is this quaint ski town that every year hosts Winter Rendezvous from January 22-26 a five-day gay extravaganza of skiing, snowboarding, dog-sledding (sometimes in drag) and pretty much every outdoor activity you can dream up. But it’s so much more than that, and so is Stowe.

Check out our November issue by clicking here to get all the insider goodness on Stowe and this awesome annual event.
